Harry Potter Spells ~Book Tag~

I wasn’t tagged by anyone, but I want to do this anyway! If you didn’t know, I love Harry Potter! I first saw this tag on Clemi’s Bookish World. It was created by KimberlyFayeReads. (She also created the lovely graphics!)

I am tagging a few of newfound blogger friends who have already made the start of this blog so much better, simply by having a nice chat with me. (You don’t have to feel obligated to do it.)  Genuinely Jenia, Quiet Happiness and Rain, FloralReads, As Told By Carly, and Book Reviews Anonymous (I know it’s not your thing, but just in case. Haha.)

Anyway, here goes nothing, and I hope you enjoy!
1 - Accio

1. An upcoming release you wish you could get your hands on right now.

I honestly don’t get myself many new releases. I’m a cheapskate and love to shop at charity stores and especially Goodwill. So, I’m not anticipating any releases, but I do really want to get my hands on a copy of The Princess Bride by: William Goldman. Let’s just count that.

2 - Alohomora

2. Favorite Series Starter.

I actually could think of quite a few for this one, but I decided on The Maze Runner by: James Dashner. This wasn’t my favorite series in the world, yet the first book was hard to put down. It definitely pulled me into the series.

3 - Cheering Charm

3. A book that gave you all the warm fuzzies.

This one I MUST go with my favorite romance of all time (mentioned in my Top Ten Books), Pride and Prejudice by: Jane Austen. I never knew what “warm fuzzies” felt like (if you can actually define them) until this book.

4 - Aguamenti

4. A book that made you ugly cry.

Ghost Boy by: Martin Pistorius. Ugh. Let’s not talk about this right now.

5 - Expecto Patronum

5. Bookish hero or heroine you want around to protect you in real life.

This one I may be cheating on a little, but he’s from a comic so it counts, right? Iron Man is who I would want around. He’s very powerful, very smart, and very sarcastic. Sarcastic people are some of my favorite people to be around.

6 - Lumos

6. A book you intentionally spoiled for yourself.

And Then There Were None by: Agatha Christie. I was frustrated by her overwhelming, constant use of the same curse word, so I decided to skip to the end and read the letter about how it was done. I enjoyed that more than I thought I would and understood the whole book by the ending.

7 - Imperio

7. A book you wish you could make everyone read because you loved it so much.

The Harry Potter Series by: J.K.Rowling. (If you’re going to use an unforgivable curse, you might as well just make them read a whole series!)

8 - Engorgio

8. A book series you wish never ended.

A Series of Unfortunate Events by: Lemony Snicket.  Poor orphans, but more unfortunate events for you!

9 - Wingardium Leviosa

9. A book with an uplifting ending or message.

Ella Minnow Pea by: Mark Dunn. If you keep searching, you’ll always find the answer to even the toughest puzzle. Sometimes, it’s already inside you.

10 - Obliviate

10. A book you wish you could forget you ever read.

If I spent time to read it, I don’t want to forget about it. But (on a different approach), it could be fun to forget The Philosopher’s Stone by: J.K. Rowling — just so I can reread it with a fresh mind.

11 - Anapneo

11. An author who’s book always gets you out of a slump.

Lemony Snicket for sure! His books are such fun, short reads.

12 - Jelly-Legs Jinx

12. A swoon-worthy hero or heroine.

This is going to have to go back to my favorite romance book of all time: Pride and Prejudice. Oh, dear Mr. Darcy…. “My feelings will not be repressed. You must allow me to tell you how ardently I admire and love you.” In reality, I probably wouldn’t like someone like this, but in this story, he is awesome.

13 - Aresto Momentum

13. A book that caused you to stop doing all other things until you finished it.

A Study in Scarlet by: Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. How I love Doyle and Holmes!

14 - Crucio

14. A book that was painful to read.

Crossed by: Ally Condie. Such bad, bad writing. No offense, but I reeeally didn’t like it.

15 - Rictumsempra

15. A book that had you laughing out loud.

I really don’t have a book for this one. A. I don’t read much humor. B. I don’t laugh out loud when reading. I know that might sound weird — that’s just me. It can be hilarious, and I’ll be laughing really hard to myself, but you wouldn’t be able to tell.

16 - Expelliarmus

16. A book that made you want to send it flying.

Cinder by: Marissa Meyer. This wasn’t because the book was bad or frustrating at all. No, I wanted to hurl this book across the room because I forgot it was in a series. I kept wondering and wondering how it could possibly come to a good conclusion, and then … it didn’t.

17 - Portus

17. Book world you wish you could visit.

I think Narnia would be a beautiful place to go!

18 - Stupefy

18. A book with a shocking twist or ending.

Frankenstein by: Mary Shelley. One big shock to me was that I didn’t know Frankenstein’s monster was extremely intelligent. (Spoiler alert [?])

19 - Avada Kedavra

19. A character death that destroyed you.

Matthew Cuthbert from Anne of Green Gables. I was quite young and very upset at the time. I ran, bawling, to my grandmother, and she thought someone had actually died! Haha, oh, poor Matthew.

20 - Finite Incantatem

20. Best series conclusion.

Shall we finish this out with Harry Potter? Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by: J.K. Rowling. (A.K.A. the book where everyone is dead, but happy.)

Thanks for reading! I hope you enjoyed. This took me a while, and some of my answers are similar, but that’s okay. If you do (or did) this tag, make sure to link it in the comments so I can check them out. Have a great day!
