To all the girls who dream of true love and find it in a dog. A Girl’s Best Friend is a short, cute romance about a 24-year-old who has the absolute worst dates, but her dog is always there for her. The romance in this reminded me so much of Anita and Roger from 101 Dalmatians. I loved that part! Everything does happen very suddenly in this story. It can go from uneventful to action-packed in an instant.
The style of writing in this tale reminded me a little of a diary or blog post. It was completely in chronological order and had many, many details.
This isn’t very important to most people, but grammar and punctuation matter a lot to me in books. There were quite a few grammatical, spelling, and capitalization errors in A Girl’s Best Friend. My favorite error probably had to be “Shrubbery is the key to any girl’s heart.” (HA! I believe the author meant chivalry.)
I don’t really think this book was my cup of tea. If you are into short, cute romances, it may be for you!
